前 Google 高層 Matt Brittin 即將接任 BBC 新總裁 望帶來根本性重大改革
據 BBC 今日（3 月 25 日）報道，前 Google 歐洲、中東及非洲區總裁 Matt Brittin 已獲正式確認接任新一任 BBC 總裁（Director General），接替早前因編輯爭議辭任的 Tim Davie。
57 歲的 Brittin 在 Google 共累積 18 年科技界高層經驗並於去年離任。他曾主理 Google 在英國、歐洲以至中東及非洲地區的業務，以其改革及創新見稱。BBC 主席 Samir Shah 表示，Brittin 具備領導大型複雜組織的專業及遠見，將成為 BBC 進行根本性改革的關鍵人物。BBC 媒體編輯 Katie Razzall 最近指出，Google 內部人士「對 Brittin 只有好評，並稱他是一位鼓舞人心的領導者和優秀的團隊成員」（”have only good things to say about Brittin, as an inspirational leader and a great team player”）。
Brittin 坦言，現時正值公營傳媒關鍵時刻，他形容自己「迫不及待投入這份工作」（”can’t wait to start this work”），同時認為英國需要「一個蓬勃發展的 BBC，在一個複雜、不確定且快速變化的世界中為所有人服務」（”a thriving BBC that works for everyone in a complex, uncertain and fast changing world”）。
Brittin 上任時正值 BBC 面臨多重挑戰的關鍵時刻，包括英國政府檢討皇家憲章（royal charter）及牌費制度，未來資金來源及運作模式亦備受關注。Brittin 的數碼發展背景被外界寄望可加快 BBC 數碼化及業務創新，以應對全球科技企業競爭。
