據 BBC 今日（7 月 22 日）報導，蘇格蘭精釀啤酒集團 Brewdog 將關閉於英國各地的旗下 10 間酒吧，包括其位於鴨巴甸（Aberdeen）的旗艦酒吧。
Brewdog 發言人表示，由於成本上升、監管加強和經濟壓力等因素，該公司作出了這「艱難的決定」（”difficult decision”），並補充他們「儘管已盡最大努力」（”despite our best efforts”）仍無法實現商業可行性。即將關閉的酒吧包括 Aberdeen Flagship、Brighton、London Camden、Dundee、Leeds North Street、Oxford、Sheffield、London Shepherds Bush、London Shoreditch 以及 York 分店。
工會 Unite 全國酒店業負責人 Bryan Simpson 表示，Brewdog 「向忠誠員工發出不到四天的關閉工作場所通知」（”give loyal workers less than four days notice of the closure of their workplace”）不僅在「道德上令人反感」（”morally repugnant”），而且可能違法。Unite 斥之為「又一個對基本勞動法漠不關心的公司例子」（”yet another example of a company that doesn’t have the slightest regard for basic employment law”）。
Brewdog 表示將對所有面臨裁員風險的員工進行為期 14 天的諮詢程序，但未有透露受影響員工的數目。該啤酒廠和酒吧集團由漁夫 James Watt 和 Martin Dickie 於 2007 年在鴨巴甸創立，以其精釀啤酒和 IPA 而聞名。Brewdog 在全球擁有啤酒廠和酒吧，其中 71 間位於英國，當中 17 間位於蘇格蘭。該品牌在杜拜、美國和澳洲亦有酒吧。
